Expanding Air Shafts equipped with self-centering long keys are designed for use with cardboard cores. By adding a square steel insert, the long keys can be used with steel cores as well.
They perfectly center both full reels and split reels, eliminating the need for more expensive pre-centering systems.
The shaft is equipped with at least 3 keyrows with long aluminium keys for optimal centering. Additionally, they can be alternated with keyrows with Nylon or rubber keys, in order to improve axial locking of the reels.
If equipped with self-centering long aluminium keys, these shafts are suitable for cardboard cores.
Inflated to 6 bar, they can transmit a torque of 400 daNm per linear meter of a 6” cardboard core.
